Name issue when coming back?

Hi

I've been a PR of US for about 2.5 years. I'm thinking about going overseas for about 4 months.

I'm having a problem with my name on the passport.

Let's say my name is Alpha Beta Charlie (First, Middle, Last), then

My NY driver's license = Alpha Beta Charlie
My Social Security = Alpha Beta Charlie
My Greencard = Alpha Beta Charlie
All the above are correct.

However, on my passport (from my country of citizenship) it appears as Maung Alpha Beta Charlie. In our culture, Maung is equal to Mr. Getting a new passport is at least a year. So, I don't want to do it.

So, my question is, will I have problem with the Maung on my passport when coming back at the US airport? If so, in your opinion, what is the best thing I can do or best document I need to have to prepare for this.

I don't see any issue. If anybody asks you, you can explain same way you are explaining here - it's equivalent to "Mr". Keep your state driver license with you as your additional supporting document.

When I got my passport made for the first time, they added my father's entire name to my name. So if my name is Alpha Beta and my father's name is Gamma Delta Epsilon, my name in the passport appeared as Alpha Beta Gamma Delta Epsilon. I did not have enough time to change it. My first visa to the US had this name, and so did my drivers license.

To change it, I had to go through a "change of name" process for the passport, which included advertisement in two newspapers in my home country announcing my "name change", and lots of other paperwork. Also here, I had to appear in front a magistrate for a "name change". Quite a headache. However I got it changed much before the GC.

I guess you are referring to Myanmar customs on names.
While returning, if questioned, explain to them that it is equivalent to
'salutation' or 'honorofics' .Even it may mean 'younger brother' some times.
