I applied for GreenCard for my mother. I had sent an affidavit for her DOB (from my uncles) and i got an RFE back for her and my birth cirtificate. We went to the village she was born and to our surprise found that her bith certificate was available. Now the complicaiton begins. Her name in the birth certificate has an extra characters: Ex: Her name in Birth Certificate is rajaLaskmi while it is just Lashmi in her passport. She also was name by a diff name, say XXX, and my birth cirtificate has her different name (other than Laksmi or RajaLakshmi).
So to summerize her Passport, Birthcirtificae and my Birthcirtificate have diff names. The only link is her marriage invitation thats has an "alias" in it.
To narrorw down from three diff names to two, we contacted the US embassy and they said they will see if they can issue a passport with RajaLakshmi. If they do that i have to REDO the GC forms.
Questions
1) Will USCIS let me redo the application form with, say, Rajalaksmi (as in her birthcirtificae). I will provide Lakhmi AND XXX as alternate names used.
2) Will the USCICS take her "other" alternate name in my BirthCirtificate? I.e will they take her marriage invitiation as proof of her alias?
