Name Correction in GC

Hi:

My son's name (8 years old) needs some correction in the card. They added middle initial which has to be removed. I returned the card with I-90 form along with his copy of passport and 2 recent ADIT style phtos. I got temporary I-551 in his passport. I got a receipt notice yestereday which has receipt date of Feb 18, 2005. Did any body gave the card for correction and got new card? If so in how many months (if you experience for minor that would be great). I booked flight tickets to India for May 30th. Your reply to this threated would be really appreciated.

Normally it takes upto three months (or less). However, as your son has temporary I-551 stamp on passport, he does not need to worry. That stamp is good enough for traveling.
