Name checks

I ahve been reading about name checks in the forum , howver it is not clear who is subject to name check and how would I know if my name is being checked or not and what is the usual waiting period on that
I did by BIO code 3 3 weeks ago and I don;t know if my name is being currently checked or not
any input?

Hey, pbeshai! according to the documents(official) published on citizenship forum here, the least time the name check takes- no hit, no records, no common name(according to fbi)- i think is 2 months; ins tells you 6 months usually.there are people, though, stuck in name check for more then 2 years. fbi says that these are 2% of the whole group. who knows what the truth is! hopefully we will pass without problem. good luck!
