How do you find out that your name check is done .
where do you have to call. NUmbers?????
when do they normally do the name check.
My Fp results were recd last yr (2003) and and the LUD status stills states that. Does that mean my name check is done .....

Search the forum for FBI number. Call them to find the status
 
If mY FP results have been recd by Uscis ( tho last year) does that mean my name check was done or is it a totally different thing that FPs.
I am still not clear what name check is and WHEN its is done>

From what I understand they check with 3 agencies. But, I do not know whether are all linked. I would assume if FBI clears it is all done.
 
So basically if My Fps were recd and "processing resumed" my name check was done.
am i understanding that correctly .
 
Al_aos,
Name check and FP are different. USCIS tells you about FP received because you have to go and get fingerprinted. They do not tell you about name check and the IBIS checks because your active participation is not necessary. Your FP received does not mean your name check is cleared. Call FBI at 202-324-2399 to find out about name check status.

Does the Uscis do a name check b4 approving the 485 or it would have been
done at the time of FP
 
I think the name check is initiated soon after they receive 485 application. When I checked with FBI, they told me that my name was cleared in July 03 and my RD is Oct 02. So, I do not have a way to know when it was initiated and how long it took but my guess is that it is done in the beginning of processing rather than at the end as they know it can take a very long time if your name gets a "hit".
