Please let us know the difference between Name check and USCIS security check, if any.
a work colleague had his interview in Chicago few weeks ago, the IO told him that USCIS initiated a security check on him, so He asked the IO if that is the name check and IO replied that name check is done however, USCIS is conducting this one to make sure every thing in ok before giving him the oath. the IO told him to contact Chicago DO after 4 moths, in case he didn't hear from USCIS.
Can USCIS initiate a security check beside NC and back ground check and what could be the purpose of that?
Also, in which step each check need to be done, is these checks are redundant? please share your knowledge.
