Name Check Vs FP Result

Is name check a separate process than the FP process? Or is it part of it.

Status for my application now shows FP result has been received and processing has resumed. Does it mean the name check has been completed as well?

So far, this was my first FP after about 15 months of filling of the I-485. And I did not receive the receipt notice so far. But I don't care about that now.

Hopefully I do not have to go through the second FP 15 months from now.

Both FP and name check are part of security checks and are independent.
If your status changed as you indicated, yes it means both checks are done.
Can you please post info? (RD, ND, etc)

No. Only FP check is done. Not Name Check... as for as I know there is no status update for Name/Background check....

I have also not received my FP even after one year of filing I-485.
 
My information is as under,

RD: 03/25/2003 (Filed 2 months after filing 140)
I-140 Approved Feb 2003
Never received a Receipt Notice
FP-1: June 2004

How did you file your AP without the 485 receipt notice. Was it filed in the same packet?? You should get the receipt notice. If you get your AP and you use it, you will have to show your 485 receipt notice at the port of entry ...
 
In my case, I never applied for AP. Can still use my H1.

If you need this info,
- A copy of the cancelled cheque for 485 fee alongwith the printout of status from the USCIS web site would serve as sufficient alternative to the receipt notice.

USCIS would accept such an alternative. No one else seems to accept though, including the Bureau of Motor Vehicle.
