Name Check / Security check at Airport

Hi,

One of my friend is a long time Greencard holder. His name is a common South Indian name and unfortunately, it looks like, that there are some known suspected terrorist by that name. Whenever he travels by flight, he gets into
- Long interrogations
- The officials call some people in various places ( he guesses FBI, Homeland security etc ) to make security checks before he boards the flight
- Sometimes, they have asked him to come out of the flight ( after boarding ) for extra enquiries
- He has missed connecting flights couple of times

This has happened at least 5 or 6 times within the last couple of years, but everytime, finally, he will be cleared and he has travelled by flight. Is there a way for him to avoid this. Can he get his name cleared once for all. This looks similar to that of the name check issue ...

Thanks,

Document every incident

Do not get upset :p take the long view - $$$$$$$$

Currently there is a challenge to this law - it maybe changed or modified or deleted.

Get documentation of every incident - dates, places, time, flight #, TSA employees name, FBI agents names who interrogated you - get every detail -- this will establish a pattern.

Thus you would be entitled to damages - this is discrimination - and courts do not like that - currently there are cases and sooner or later there will be a class action - which you will be a member.

Consult an ACLU lawyer.

does this happen on domestic or international flights?

I know of a US citizen routinely getting flagged for US-bound international flights. the funny thing is that they cannot deny his entry into the country but somehow they have to clear it with someone in the states.

the way DHS operates, it is weird.
