Name Check Pending

Today i called IO again, she told me my name check pending and case is not assigned to officer.

She is telling case is transfered on 24 th March, but i recived mail on 7th march about my transfer and my last lud is 15 th March, no lud after second FP.

Please let me know if there are any steps i need take in order to clear my name. I already contacted congressOwmen 4 days back.

same here, seems like that 180 day NC waiver rule is bogus!

Firstly, I will ask you to verify this information through Infopass. TSC IOs told me at two occasions that my NC/ Security checks were pending, even though I had confirmed through Infopass that they were cleared. Good thing that I did not believe them.

If indeed so, you can write to FL (First Lady), it has worked for some people. There's a lot of information on this board reg name check. If you research enough, you should be able to find it. Fortunately/Unfortunately my knowledge is limited in this regards because I did not face any hurdles in this process.

btw ... as per uscis, you might still have a visa # allocated even thought NC is still pending.

Wish you good luck. Try writing to number of people including FL, VP, FBI Director etc and hopefully you should see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Clearance received: 5 Members (Wife & Children)
Mine pending FBI-Clearance: It is Name Check
In fact, IO wrote "clear" on derivatives receipt notices (hard copy) and pending for me.
BTW, I am scheduled to be interviewed on 8-13-2007 alongwith my wife.

i think you are almost done and interview is formality. I read on USCIS website couple of days ago, and clearly mentioned interview is conducted only after all background checks are done. Infopass information is crap...never in sync with LIVE systems.

Thanks a lot for your encouraging words and do you have email id for FBI director, i sent mail to FBI 3 years back no reply from him till date.
I have an infopass appointment to talk to immigration officer on monday.

Let me know what questions to ask him.

I called up TSC IO two days back and was told that all checks are clear and visa numbers have been assigned.

I called up just now and was told that Name check is pending for my case. I think MA_Labor is right. We should not believe these officers. Infact, this is the last call to TSC. No more calls henceforth. Just chill out and wait man. There is nothing much that we can do. Things are out of our control now. The lady officer would not reveal details of my wife's case. She says my wife has to call herself. I am done with calling TSC. That's it.

We should all get on with life. Life is too precious chasing GC. We all will get it someday.

I called 2 times and my wife i called 2 times everytime they tell us name check is pending :(. anyway i am going to INFOPASS on Monday i will update on that. You are right it is getting out of controll since June 1 st , i don'nt know when i will see that day...:(

Well said svadlani. I totally agree with you. But it is difficult to follow. Tough to beat this anxiety.
 
called TSC a little bit ago-

Here's the info.
- she said my name check is still pending
- results from my second FP given on 5/8/07 came back
- my case is assigned to an officer
- cannot disclose if a visa number has been assigned to my case

(I went to Infopass appointments- one in May 07 and one on Jul-06-07
During my first appointment, I was told that my name check was clear. But in the second appointment he said my name check is still pending)

I told the TSC rep that I was told by Infopass my name check was cleared. She said she was aware that Infopass has been telling people like that but not sure where they getting that info. What she was looking at shows that my name check is still pending.

I am going to call again on Monday and use my receipt number to see if they tell me any different. Today I had to use my A# because I didn't have the receipt# handy.

Looks like I am missing this wave of approvals also. So freaking dippressing. Don't know what to do.

Oh, by the way, she also said that since my case has been transferred to TSC in March, it started all over- which we all here know is not true because there have been several approvals for transferred cases. What idiots?

BTW Last month when I did an InfoPass, I was told that everything is clear..as if they were just waiting for VISA numbers. I didnt ask any specifics. I have another one on Mon the 16th.

I just hung up with TSC, the IO lady (was polite) said my name check is pending. I told her what InforPass IO had said, she said I see it as pending. She also asked if I did FP yet...interesting!?

no 2nd FP request yet..

USCIS will not let me go so easily.:D

This is so frustrating. I don't want to miss the approval train now, once we miss this, I see no way out. I've been frantically checking my emails, websites and what not. Did everything I could, wrote to senators, FL, Ombudsman. What else can we do? This is a problem that has no solution, we have no control over it… Our lives are on hold because of this *(*#$) name check.
