Name Check or is it?

If the case status says, "the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made"

Does that mean that Name check is done or is pending, what does one understand from it?

name check and FP are different processes

The message means that your FP results have been received from FBI and in almost every case is sent to USCIS within a few days.

Name check takes anywhere from a few days to few years!!!!
 
Doesn't have anything to do with the name check, it's only saying that the FP were received and checked against a database and the process continues. The name check is done separately and you won't be notified when it's done and also there will be no modif in the online message (it might be on LUD though)

Last Update Date = the last time when they did something for your case ... sometimes removing the dust
