Name Check - not yet done -- gurus help

I just called VSC. I was again told that my name check results were not back yet and that they had sent the request to the FBI on July 22nd 2005.

My 485 application was filed on Spet. 2004. Any idea why they waited till my FP was over and results were back before they sent the Name Chekc request?

Also I have sent mails to the FBI about the status on the name check but have not heard back anything. I also sent an FOIPA request. Nothing on that too as of now. Its been almost a month since I have sent these requests.

gurus, any idea about if the FBI foolks respond to emails. Has anyone in this Forum received a reply back from FBi about their name check status????

Any info on other threads about other ossible avenues (trying going through the congressman's office)...any other ideas? is there any way AILA can help me

gurus, please comment and provide suggestions.
 
I see lots of people worrying too much about Name Check when
1. Processing Dates are not beyond their 485 application date
2. When priority dates is not current for their individual case date.

Please make sure if these 2 conditions are met before you break your head on the Name Check nonsense.

Phone # of VSC to track name checks status

Can you tell me, when did you finish your FP? What is the # of VSC to call to track name checks result? I filed my I-485 in Nov, 2004, haven't heard anything so far.

If you have a question about case status information provided via this site, or if you have not received a decision or advice from the USCIS within the projected processing time frame, please contact the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375 – 5283 or
Time frame, please contact the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375 – 5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY).

Press 1 (for english),
press 2 (for existing case),
press 6 (for case statues etc),
then press 1( for knowing your receipt no.),
enter the receipt # to get the automated response saying blah blah blah and also at the end saying this is the most upto date information on your case and our customer the same info national customer service agents have (i totally agree with this).
Then choose to continue to the next step "press 3" . choose 3
Listen to the options-
Option 4 "if you feel if you submitted together and one of the applications is left out and not processed (don't remmember the exact message text ..but something about companion case"

Name Check pending

I have been noticing your posings keenly as you and I are in the same boad. Mine is also stuck in the "Name Check" Process. I have faxed FOIPA to FBI and also "Name Check" request. but no reply. I contacted my senator and got a reply from them telling me to wait as FBI name check takes long time. I don't know what to do at this point. Keep in touch as we are totally in the same boad.

Possible things are
1. Request expedite processing, thru USCIS. they do it in some exigent circumstances. For most of us, it is difficult to do.
2. Request expedite processing thru Senator/Congressman. This depends on how helpful the Conman/Senator staff are.
3. File a lawsuit in court of law. Most people have had good success with this.
4. Wait. I get a feeling that they are moving little faster now, because both mine and a friends with similar 485 timelines got cleared around the same time.
