Agreed ... AND the worse part is it does NOTHING to improve national security ....

Lets say someone applied for 485 and got a genuine namecheck hit (maybe that person was a real terrorist or whatever) ... till FBI resolves that HIT (which has taken upto 2 years for some of us here), that person is sitting right here in the US enjoying all the benefits of EAD/AP etc etc and has all the time to do whatever it is that he does.

So covering all of this under the "national security" umbrella is plain ol' BS. I mean if you want things secured, you want to get information as quick as you can -- not wait for it for years !
