Name Check: Full Name, First Name or Both Separately?

Hi all,

Any ideas regarding the subject of this thread?

How is the name check conducted?

First name, last name, both combined, both separate?

Any insight would be very helpful.

My understanding is the FBI queries its databases using multiple variations/combinations of your first, middle and last names. It also includes phonetic variations and the like... so, quite comprehensive, hence why so many people get stuck with multiple hits requiring manual follow-up action.
 
I am getting my biometrics done tomorrow. I was just asking out of curiousity. My first and middle name are common however my last name is very peculiar and I am hoping this is what will save me from any name check nightmares.
 
The answer really is " you never know". Hope for the best and don't stress in advance by imposing the worst case upon yourself :)
