Hello,
I took an Infopass last Friday in the Washington DC local office and the first officer at the reception told me that my name check was cleared last week of August. What a relief!
It took almost 15 months for my namecheck to get cleared - I have written to the district's only representative, "taxation without representation" is so true, and to First Lady back in May. FBI sent me a letter in July in reference to the inquiry with the First Lady with the usual letter "in process [thanks for asking]". Not sure what helped and what not but my guess is that if you keep trying somebody will eventually look at your file, wipe the dust off it and clear it
Back to the Infopass appointment: the IO at the back looked at my file and confirmed that the name check was cleared. When I inquired about the new fingerprints, mine expired at the end of August, she told me that the fingerprints were checked again on 08/23/07 and that there was no need to reschedule an appointment to get new fingerprints
The officer then looked at my wife's file and told me that her fingerprints were checked and cleared on 08/23 as well. According to her my file is "under review"...
So my question is: how many FP check does the USCIS do and why do they take our FP before they are actually needed?
Cheers,
Matlab.
