Name check cleared but another interview

Hi,

I received a letter from USCIS District office notifying that the FBI cleared my name check (it took approximately 9 months) and they have asked me to appear personally at the DO's office for the update (they also asked me to get the green card and the passports).

What is this about?

By the way, 9 years back I got the speeding ticket. I paid the fine and attended the driving school. However, I forgot to mention this in N-400.

At the time of my first interview (when they say that the decision can not be made because of the pending name check), they did not ask me about any tickets.

Now, since, they have again called me for the interview after the name check is cleared, shall I tell them about the ticket or shall I keep quiet?

Any experience?

Please advice.

Thanks

First of all a court certified disposition of the ticket.
If the ticket was not for DUI/DWI and the amount of fine was less than $500.00 I would keep quiet unless it was brought up during the interview. Then provide the documentation.

If the officer specifically asks you "did you receive any tickets" or "do you have a clean driving record" or "have you recevied any points on your drivers license" then I would discuss the ticket and mention that I forgot it on the N-400.

Remember unless the ticket was DUI/DWI and/or the fine was more than $500 AND there was no arrest involved you are fine. Otherwise contact a lawyer.

Did you sign your pictures at the the interview ? It could be for you to sign anything that you did not sign in the first interview or to verify your periods outside the country. If it was about a specific thing they would have asked you to get records
