I had my stamping on the 20th of August and have not received the card yet. My wife's card was received on 6th of Oct. I was wondering if namecheck is done before the issuance of physical card?

Checks are all done before AOS adjudication. After stamping it goes into the card manufacture process in Kentucky. If it's been more than 60 days, call the NSC or file form G-731 downloadable from the USCIS web site.

Thanks for the reply. I did call the customer service and will mail the form soon. I am not sure why it is getting delayed?

Hi Wik

when u say that card is ordered after the stamping.

do u mean that only after the I-551 stamping do they send for card issuance

this contradicts other messages in this forum - that says the I-551 stamping is just for proof

pls clarify if you know otherwise......
thanks

Two things happen when you go for stamping. One, you get a stamp in your passport which is temporary evidence of LPR status. Two, you must give a single fingerprint and sign a form which is then sent with your details to the card manufacturing facility.

So, unless you have gone for stamping, your card production will not have been initiated.

Unless you AOS via a District Office, in which case your ginerprint is taken at the interview, and the stamping is just temp proof of your LPR status.
