just found out that our 485 did not come thru with the 140 last week as my wife's name check has not been rcvd....
help me ...where do i fax or mail or email...as apparently thats the only thing they are waiting for at this point accdg to the senators office.

Here is the information

If you call (202) 324-2399 you will hear a recorded voice message that tells you that they are not longer receiving call phones; instead they instruct you to E-Mail a request of Name Check status to the following E-Mail address: fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

In your E-Mail message make sure to provide your full Name, DOB, Alien # and SSN (if applicable).

I sent my request on 11/16/04 and I am still waiting for the reply.

I am not aware of an E-Mail adress for checking FP status at the FBI, but you can easily do it over the phone as follows:
1. Call FBI to any one number: (304) 625 5590 or (304) 625 2406
2. An automated system will answer. Select Option 3 or Option 2 i.e. Private Individual; this will transfer you to a real person.
3. Ask her/him if your FP report has been sent back to USCIS or not.
4. She will ask your Alien # and she will answer in the spot about your FP status. Alien # is located on the right hand corner of your I-140 or I-485 or FP notice or in your EAD.


In my case, the FBI sent the FP back to USCIS the same day, and I have seen that this is the normal trend.

There is another thread called Name Check . Request you to take a look at that. It has the details of the email and email format for Name check.
