Just one question here for all gurus...

Does it mean I don't have 'Name Check' problem, when I get an interview letter? Since my case hasn't shown up on the case status website, kind of confused now.

Thanks!

Depending on your DO, it may or may not be the case. Keep your finger crossed.

some people go to the intervview and still have to wait for their name check to clear before they can take the oath. You got your interview notice really quickly, what office are you with??

Are you sure you guys are right in what you are saying here? Isnt it the case now that they dont send the Interview Letter until the name check clears because of the lawsuits before when they had sent the interviews and then there was a long wait for the name check?

I am under the impression that the fact that you have the interview letter means you have cleared the name check. Please correct me if I am wrong.

One more thing...when you get the Interview Letter it means your case has been forwarded to the DO - so that is why you dont see your case status online.

Thanks

Thanks for all reply...

I think NSC/St.Paul is doing a great job on processing N400.
I can only hope getting IL means passed name check!

Thanks!

Getting an interview letter is good news in all cases. It could mean that you have passed name check, or it could mean that the DO is ignoring name check problems. Once your interview is complete, a clock gets started, and they must make a decision by the time it expires (or you can commence legal action).

Be happy in any case.

Good luck

As always, I'm not a lawyer, and I pretty much have no experience in this issues other than what I've been through and what I've picked up on this forum. Do not believe anything I say to be correct.

N-400 Name check

I had my interview done for citizenship on 05/15/2006. I also had my fingerprinting done on 12/29/2005. It has been four and a half months since my interview, but my name check is still is pending with the FBI. I have contacted the FBI but they don't tell you anything over the phone. I have to local INS office but they also don't help you much. Now I have requested a congressman to help with my case. Let''s see what happens.
