Name check and interview date question

I called the 800# today to check my status, mainly to see if I cleared name check. Thanks to this board I knew to ask for an immigration officer. I was told by IO that I am in line for an interview date, although he could not tell me if I cleared name check. I thought that they were not scheduling interviews for people still in name check anymore. Does anyone know if this is true?

I do realize I have not been scheduled yet, so maybe I am in line while name check is still pending, I just wish I knew if I cleared the dreaded check.

If someone could let my know their thoughts I would be grateful. He also told me I should be scheduled between 30 and 90 days, I think that is quite unlikely, see dates below.
 
Immigration officers over the phone line do have access to see whether the Name Check has cleared or not. Also you should have asked them when was your file placed in the queue for an interview (if they tell you they don't know or don't have access to that info) that's usually a sign that the information they provide may not be correct. the other option is to schedule an infopass and get more accurate information.
 
Do an Info pass

I think you are wasting your time talking on the phone line. If you are really keen to know the status, do an info pass and find out. Better still check out the immigration tracker and enter your information too so that others can benefit too.

He told me I was put in line for interview on Oct. 31. I think you all are correct in that I should do an info pass. I made one some time back but left after being told I would have to wait 2 hours or so. I guess I will just wait it out. Thank you.

I received my interview letter about a month after told by an IO (800#) that my name was in interview queue. Looks like yours' might be on the way. Good luck!

Thanks for the hope but I applied at the end of July with the millions of others. There are folks waiting for their interview letters who applied in April so I will post my dates but I am not expecting my interview notice to come until about Feb. '08, if earlier I will be happy, if later not at all surprised.

I looked at your dates, congrats to you and your wife you are finally finished!
