IS there a difference between I-485 name check and the background check that FBI conducts when you apply for a Visa. I think the visa background check is applicable for SR countries only.
My name check is still pending. In 2002 I applied for H1 visa at US embassy abroad and my back ground check cleared in 2 weeks. If they are the same thing, shouldn't my I -485 name check take just as long?
