Hello,
i) In N-400, in the travel section, I mistakenly mentioned I was out of US between dec 2002 and Jan 2006. It is Jan 2003. However, I have marked "No" for six-months question and # of days as 27, correctly. My interview is next week and I noticed this mistake just today. I am preparing corrected version of the page (one with 2007 version of N-400 and another with 2008 version of N-400). Am I covered here, if I bring it up to the officer at the beginning of the interview? Or will this trigger a repeat of the entire process? I am planning to take Bank Stmts, Pay checks/ Tax Returns to prove I was in US during that time. Needless to say, my passport entry do support my point.

ii) I requested a name change, but now, would like to drop my middle, name which I had specified in N-400. Is it possible to request the officer to make this change?

iii) I landed in US on Jun 2, 1998. Was on bench till 8/17/1998. Promptly I mentioned 8/17/1998 as my employment start date in N-400. I am worried, if Officer would like to know more about my in-between status.

Please advise.

i) Yes, mention it right away to the IO and have your passport ready with the evidence. Mistakes can be corrected at the time of interview and your application is not final till it is signed during the interview. Nothing to worry. Mistakes happen.
ii) Yes. Just tell the IO.
iii) I think they are interested only in employment for past 5 years so 1998 does not matter.
