Name Change on OCI

citizen wannabe

Registered Users (C)
We had applied for OCI for our infant child last year. After applying, we realized that we might have wrongly applied, as both me and my spouse were greencard holders and not citizens. We sent several letters to the Houston consulate but did not get any reply. Then, after several months, they got back to us that the OCI was approved, so we sent in the passport and got the stamp and OCI booklet.

We have, since then, legally changed the first name of our kid, and gotten an amended birth certificate and new, updated passport. My question is, do we need to apply for:

a new OCI and pay all the fees again (Me and my spouse have now become citizens, but have not applied for our own OCIs yet)

or

apply for a name change on OCI, and, if so, then how to go about doing it?

or

can we continue to use the old OCI as we still have the old cancelled passport with the U visa stamp, except that the visa stamp is in the old name

Thanks for your help!

Would the forum gurus please give me some ideas/opinions on what to do in the above situation?
We have tried calling the consulate, but it seems next to impossible to get through and emailing them also does not yield a response.
Thanks a lot!
