Name change in passport

My wife has her maiden last name in passport and her H4 visa extension also is in her maiden last name. We need to change her name in passport to her married last name.

If we do this would it be a problem to get the H4 visa stamped in her new passport?

Appreciate any help/suggestions.

New passport? Generally the new last name is done as an endorsement in the passport. Most of the immigrants leave the names as it is.
Yes, if there is a change in name, you have to file an amendment. Some get away with mentioning the name change by making the maiden name as middle name of the new name...
