name change in newark

Although there were other postings on this topic, this is slightly different and i didnt want to touch up an old one i saw.

I had my oath last month at Newark, NJ and asked for a name change from the officer - filled the form etc. Got my pp, etc. Name is same as old but for an extra name that i dropped. I didnt get any document from the office at the time - maybe i should have insisted on it.

Now the indian consulate has an issue and wants a court order ...

I tried the many numbers I have to call the newark office as they dont like walk-in s. Anybody know how to get the court document - whom to call - any numbers or departments. I gather its one of :
1) USCIS
2) Immigration Court
3) Clerk's office - for county district court (also in the same building)

If (1), then should I ask for local newark office or the 800 # they have listed on their site - whichis just a recording. Cant seem to get any person.

Contact the Federal district court in Newark. They have the jurisdiction over the name change and indeed the oath. Name change without court order is invalid.

Krishna02, I am in the exact same situation, except I haven't applied for the OCI yet. Could you advise how you went about fixing your name issue.
