Name change in N-400

Hello everyone,

I am planning on changing my name in N-400 and have a few questions.

1. Does it delay the process of getting my citizenship?
2. Is there anything else that needs to be done apart from filling a Petition for name change during the interview?
3. Does Louisville, Kentucky have court ceremonies for swearing-in because 'A Guide to Naturalization' says something regarding that?
4. Do I have to pay extra application fees?

I really appreciate any suggestions and answers you might provide.

I do not think so. I requested a name change. the decision could not be made at the time of my interview. However, it was not because of the name change. it iwas becuase of the background check.

2. Is there anything else that needs to be done apart from filling a Petition for name change during the interview?

i can't remember what else i filed. Bu ti think i filled some form about name change during the interview.

3. Does Louisville, Kentucky have court ceremonies for swearing-in because 'A Guide to Naturalization' says something regarding that?

i thought so too. however, my ceremony is not in a court house. but a judge would be there to host the ceremony. so i guess it is ok. you might not need to go to a court house for ceremony.

4. Do I have to pay extra application fees?
