Name Change in Indian Passport

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone can throw some light on my predicament.
Basically my name in passport appears as follows:

lastname: ponugula
given name: viswa siva kiran kumar

I go by the name kiran, since kiran is my first name. Hence I wanted to change my name to the following in the passport.

lastname: ponugula
given name: kiran viswa.

So when I fill out my application for indian passport, should i fill first name as "kiran" and middle name as "viswa" to obtain the 2nd format for my name? I am utterly confused and if anyone can share their knowledge, it would be truly helpful.

Usually people at the embassy are little reluctant to do so. But no harm in giving a try.

Thanks for the reply. You mean to say that such a change is not at all possible, even after you furnish all the relevant documents?
My concern was that will they write my wrong sequence of my name again as per indian culture naming conventions or will they go by what I write on the application form.
