Name Change for PR

Hi, guys

I am PR, and I am trying to change my name here in Houston Texas. I would like to know what the rules are for PR. I am only one year away from applying citizenship, should I go ahead change my name now or wait until my citizenship application. thank you in advance.

Since it's only one year away, I'd say wait until citizenship. If you change it now, you'll have to change out your green card which will cost hundreds of dollars and take a number of months. Then when you apply for citizenship they will run the FBI name check both with your old name and new name, thus increasing the chance of you getting stuck in name check.
