Name change during Naturalization

When I got married, I took my wife's last name and used our marriage certificate to change my name everywhere (green card, social security, etc). It took a little bit of a push to get a few agencies to accept a marriage cert for a guy changing his name, but I got through it.

Anyway, I never changed it at work and everyone still knows me as my old name, so I'd like to change it back (no divorce or anything). Since I'm about to start the naturalization process, I'm wondering how easy/hard it would be to do it in that process. Do you think I could just provide a marriage certificate again and explain that I've changed my mind?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The name change itself is as easy as requesting the name change on the N-400, showing the marriage certificate (and your birth certificate, if specifically requested) if necessary to explain how you got your current name, and showing up at the oath ceremony. Remember to mention your former/original name in the "Other names used" section of the N-400 on page 1.

But then you'll have to change your SS card, driver's license, etc. back to the original.
