Hi,
When I went for my naturalization interview, the officer told me that I had to take up my husband's last name (which is his father's given name). My husband's given name is my last name as well as my children's last name. It is the name on my green card and on all legal documents. It is the name I have used since I got married.
Is there any law that requires me to take up my husband's last name?
I am yet to take my oath and would like to see if I can do anything to retain my current last name before I am naturalized.
Thanks,
Sita
