Hi,

I am waiting for my name change through court order. The IO gave me two months time. My actual court hearing for name change is a little longer than the time given. I need to request IO to extend the date for oath ceremony. Is there any update available on USCIS website regarding forthcoming oath ceremonies in SF or it will be decided by the IO and will be informed to me via mail. Can I request an earliest date for oath ceremony after the due date for my application. I appreciate any input. Thanks.

I suggest that you get your the Oath done and follow the property line of getting name changed in court and then request changes. That's my suggestion.
I am doing same thing myself.
I do have Oath on the 16th, but started the process to change names. Just adding on some. Anyway you do NOT want to miss the opportunity of having to take your Oath.

If you bring your name change certificate to the Oath Ceremony, they can change the naturalization certificate for you, free of charge. If you do that at a later date, you will be charged $380 for a new naturalization certificate (with a new name).

Thanks for suggestion. I have not received oath letter yet. I was given form N-14 to submit requested information (IRS documents) and 2 months time. This gives enough time for me to get the IRS documents and name change process through court. I have already submitted petition for name change in my district court. Hopefully, everything will be done by that time and oath letter will be mailed.
