Hi gurus,

I have a question regarding changing my name(to my married surname) and applying for citizenship.

I have a GC but i never changed my name, so it carries my maiden name. i want to formally take up my husbands name, but am wondering whether it is safer to do so at the time of filing for citizenship or should i get it done before hand?

we will be completing 5 yrs of GC september 2009, but i wanted to be ready beforehand.

incase i want to change my name now does anyone have any idea what process i need to go through for changing the same on my GC?

thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

I think you have asked the same question before. Please refer to my response posted on the "family based green card" section.
