My wedding is in two months and I'm getting all the info.
Three questions:
1-I know that there's no difference whether my wife (the USC sponsor) submits the I-130 with her maiden last name or with her new last name.
However, since she's gonna change her last name once married to me, is it a good idea to wait for that (her new passport, her new ID, her new SS card) or could we file with her maiden last name and then go to the interview (in 2009 most likely since we live in NYC) with her new documents?
2-Marriage certificate
We will get married in Italy and therefore the marriage certificate will be in Italian. We'll get it certified translated by the Italian Consulate in NYC. Is that gonna be enough or a is foreign marriage certificate "a problem"?
3-Affidavit of support
I know this is one of the most popular questiona and it has been answered many times....
My wife-to-be is in law-school, therefore she basically has no income (just loans
). I have been in the US with a H-1B since 2002. My income meets the requirement for 2003, 2004, 2005. We should be fine but do you guys recommend that her father co-sponsors us as well?
