Hi,
My wife changed her name to add on my name after our marriage but her H1B papers for extension already had her old name. We applied for concurrent filing with her new name and have gotten till the FP atage (I140 approved).
We are going to officially change her name on her passport at the Indian Embassy to satisfy the green card application.
I have some issues here..
1) Since her H1B name and her passport will have different names will this
pose a problem for her H1B stamping in India (we will be visiting next
month). We are not using EAD but are continuing to use the H1B.
2) Will the airline allow her to fly because of this. (We have a marriage
certificate to prove the name change) (IF anyone has any experience)
3) Is it safe to travel to India with a pending green card application process?
Won't the consulate reject it because we are seeking to permanently stay in the US or do they check/care at all??
