On the interview, I answered all 10 questions correctly and got a check mark next to the line saying that I passed the history part, but officer cannot make a decision, said need to do security check, wait for letter and its going to take 90-120days....It is almost 150 days....and the problem is my green card is expriing in 1 month....So what should I do now, do calling the toll free number helps?

Well, sounds lik you stuck in infamous FBI name check. I don't think it will be a problem for you to renew your green card. However, talking about the n400, if you don't want to wait any more, you should consider filing 1447b lawsuit。

If you mailed your N-400 more than 6 months before your GC expires, it's not a problem (that's what it says in the instructions or the "Guide"). If you want proof of permanent residence, take an InfoPass appointment and they will stamp an I-551 in your passport.

My wife's interview was 5 days after her GC expired (and her oath one month after the GC expiration). We didn't bother doing anything about it. It wasn't an issue.

My interview was descheduled right as my GC expired. About a month later I showed up at an Infopass going "hey, what do I do now". They said basically "it's not a problem, but we can stamp this I-551 in your passport if you feel more comfortable". When they took my GC at my oath ceremony, they never noticed that it had expired more than 6 months earlier.

Good luck reading up on 1447b
