N600 and applying for passport

Hi

My wife and I have become US citizens recently. We just sent the N600 applicaiton for our minor daughter.

Can I apply for a US passport for my daughter while the N600 process is on?
Can I apply for OCI card for my daughter whild the N600 process is on?

Please post your experiences.

"Yes" to both questions.

Passport office may ask for your marriage certificate later for processing your daughter's application (as a proof child was born in wedlock) - may sound strange, but that's what happened with my minor daughter's case. Other documents needed for your daughter include birth certificate, greencard and parents' naturalization certificate(s).

I believe if you send the mother's naturalization certificate with your daughter's application the marriage certificate won't be needed. I might be wrong. You only need to send either father's or mother's naturalization certificate, not both.

Your daughter is already a US citizen and is therefore eligible to get a US passport.
For OCI you need a get a US passport first.
N-600 process is not a mandatory process; it simply provides your daughter an additional proof of US citizenship.
