Somehow I posted by mistake befroe I finished....

THe Receipt states that there is missing evidence that will need to be provided at interview and that I will be notified under seperate notice about what to bring ;

Questions :

1) I dont beleive that I missed some evidence in my mail in package. Is this normal message ? I did not include tax receipts which is the only think I can think of although the documents seem to indicate I do not need to submit them

2) I have an applciation number of the format SSC*. When I enter the SSC number into the online case status review :
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/caseStat.jsp;jsessionid=eWQ2xPA4Dur6

I get an error message that the case cant be found so -
- Are all N400 Applciation numbers of teh format SSC and
- are N400 cases tracable in the online case status system ?

regards

My guess is that the exception message is pretty normal - could have anything to do with traffic tickets or originals of some sort. You should get a more detailed list with your interview letter.

Almost all cases should be trackable using the online case status system - although it takes a few days/weeks after filing for it to show up. Keep trying - but dont get too worried if it doesnt show up on the system. Other users in the forum have had the same issue.

The "exception" most certainly refers to the tax transcripts, unless you have other documents to submit such as, prior marriage, speeding citations etc.

I had an exception and was asked to bring court papers regarding speeding citations. This request came in a seperate letter from the interview invitation. I would have avoided the exception if I had submitted these with my N-400.

I did include an original letter from a california court stating the speeding ticket was resolved.

So it could be tax transcripts but I infered from my reading of the guide to naturalization that I did not need to send those.
Lets see what happens.

At the end of the Naturalization Guide (current version, p. 52), there is a Document Checklist listing the documents that must be attached with your N-400. Paragraph 4 states tax returns.
