N400 Online Status Update - Testing and Interview

Hello Experts,

My status just changed online for my N400 application to "Testing and Interview". Is this the step where the case gets sent to the local DO and will get prioritized based on the number of applications ahead of me? I was wondering if I will receive something in the mail in the next few days or if they will only send me something once my interview is scheduled. I'm part of the Washington DC office which I've learned is pretty slow.

Thanks for posting this question as I am after the same answers too as my status just changed online for my N400 application to "Testing and Interview" this morning as well!

My local office is San Diego..it's all a waiting game!

it means interview letter is sent/ about to be sent. my understanding is that the status does not get updated when the actual interview letter is sent. i guess the interview date depends on the local office
