N400 Interview question

I had applied for my mom's citizenship a year back. She had a break in continuous residency (more than 6 months outside the US) during 2020 because of covid travel restrictions (she was stuck in india due to absence of flights to US). So I am not sure she will qualify for citizenship at this time. However, she now got a letter from from USCIS asking to appear at an USCIS office.

My question is : Does this letter from USCIS imply that they have looked past the break in continuous residency requirement; and are going to do the regular citizenship interview ?

The interview letter was a bit vague. It didn't clearly specify the reason she is asked to appear. The only thing remotely clear in the wording was that they will ask the civics test.

Thanks

Are you sure it doesn’t say an N400 interview? If she’s doing the civics test it sure sounds like it. Interview letters tend to be a standard format, not sure what you mean by “vague”. You can Google to see if she got the standard letter.

If an application has been made for n400 an interview will be granted when the applicant’s turn in line comes up. It doesn’t mean that they have or haven’t approved or decided anything in advance, those issues get dealt with by the interviewing officer in the interview.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the letter itself doesn't mention interview anywhere. It is just a notice to appear at the USCIS office. But I logged in online to my uscis account and there it is indeed mentioned that the N400 interview has been scheduled and that the notice to appear for the interview will be in the mail shortly.
