N400 in San jose

Hi !

Are there any restrictions on travel after you submit the N400 for processing.

I am eligible for the 5 year processing in Feb/2005 and I will send my N400 in Nov/2004. Can I travel outside US between Nov/2004 and Dec/2005 ?

What are the processing times in San Jose/San Francisco It looks like people are taking one year from sending the form to taking the oath. My friend says she knows many people that got it in 2 months (after they became elgible - so more like 5 months total from the date they sent their forms)

Is this about right ? Say 5 months ?

Also do most people apply for US passports after they get their Natz ? What is the timeline for that ?

not sure if i understand your correctly. you will send your n400 in Nov-2004? How would you do that?

Yes, you can travel anytime you want.

i am not sure if ppl apply US passports after they get their natrualization cert. or not. for sure one thing is, they CANNOT apply US passport before the oath, because they would not become US Citizen until they went thru the oath ceremony.
