N400 - How do we add spouse

I have applied N 400 and have my interview next month. My spouse is on H1. What do I need to do to get her a permanent VISA based on my citizenship. We have been married more than 10 years and she has been on H for last 3 years.

are u guys legally married here in the u.s or abroad?

You need to wait until you get your oath. Then you can sponsor her. She will not get citizenship along with you. She needs to earn it, after you sponsor her she becomes a green card holder and after 3 years become citizen. You need to file I130 for her.

Just a question, if you were married for 10 years why didnt you get her a GC when you got one. Unless of course if you have gotten your gc 10 years back and have not naturalised.

Yes, we have been married for 10 years and that was in India. When my GC got approved she was on J1 and as per regulation of J1, she could not transfer her sttaus at that time. Now she has finished her J1 wauver and she is on H1.

Get your citizenship and then file I-130 for her.
