N400 Application - Question

Hi Friends,

I am completing my 5 year period after getting GC by End July 2008. I am currently in Newark,NJ area. Here are my questions.

1. When can apply for Citizenship? Can I send the application by End April 08. I meet the residency requirements.
2. Can I apply on my own or I need to hire an attorney?
3. What all documents I need to enclose along with my N400 -I am married with one Kid (GC)?
4.Someone told me that it is safe to go through an attorney because if there are any queries or possible denial attorney will take care. Is it true? What is denial rate? Mine is employment based

I am sorry to ask several questions.

I would just in case wait until the first week of May. From what I have heard and seen on the board most recommend a little more than 90+ day rule !

2. Can I apply on my own or I need to hire an attorney?

Depends on your case. If you have some kind of record I would say yes. If you have a clean cut case there shouldn't be a reason to hire an attorney !

I think 2 passport photos with your name written softly on the back, a copy of the front and backside of your GC. You Application of course and a money order or check for the fee .. am I forgetting something here ?

If you have never been arrested, charged or convicted of any crime or you have not lied on your application there shouldn't be any reason why you should be denied.
