N400 app photos

I know that the N400 application asks for 2 photos. Is it true that while we send 2 photos we should have 2 additional photos kept with us as spare that we need to take for the interview? Do these 2 additional photos have to be identical as the original 2 that were sent with the application?

The additional photos don't have to be identical to the ones submitted with the N-400 application.
