Dear All,
I am preparing N-600K for my baby and I have some questions as follow:

•Home Address: Which address I have to use, my address in USA or my current address here in Canada?

•I got the citizenship through birth abroad to U.S. citizen parents, in the application they ask for Certificate of citizenship Number, I do not have that certificate, I only have my birth report. What is your advice?

•My wife got her citizenship this week ( Baby’s birthday is 07/21/2013), when they ask for the nationality of my wife, what I have to fill, USA or her original nationality?

•Also they ask for spouse’s immigration status, US citizen or PR?

Thanks!

1. List your address in Canada. Remember N-600K is for children of US citizens who live outside the US.

2. Leave it blank.

3. When a US citizen deals with the US government and is asked about nationality, they must always say the USA is their country of nationality, even if they have another nationality. However, if a question specifically asks about other nationalities or prior nationalities the other country is to be listed for that specific question.

4. You said your spouse is a US citizen, so why would you think about writing PR?

Thank you for your reply.

My point when my baby was born, her mother had a Green card with foreign nationality and at time of preparing the form, she has a US citizen.

So when they ask about her, they mean at the time of baby's birthday or at the time for filling this form?

N-600K is concerned about current citizenship status, not status at the time of birth. Remember the N-600K doesn't grant citizenship at birth. It's not like N-600 which recognizes citizenship at birth if the parent(s) had US citizenship at birth and met the other conditions.

Thank you for your reply.

Can i change the address and the preferred location for interview after submitting this form?
We are currently in Canada, and i feel the company gonna to transfer me back to USA by October or November. So can i change the address and the location for interview?

This thread should be in the US citizenship section. You can move it there by clicking the "Thread tools" link at the top of the thread, and choosing "Move thread".
