N-600/Passports Confused

Hello, I was just naturalized and am trying to fill out an N-600 on behalf of my daughter who is 13. I have only one problem in that Part 2. "information about your eligibility " says check only 1. I assume I check B which states US Citizen on behalf of minor biological child, however A has a combination of 4 answers one of which is citizenship through naturalization, however I think the A answer is for a person filing out on their own behalf. Does anyone know if I am correct. And also do you know if I would need this N-600 to obtain a passport for my daughter. Thanks alot.

And btw my online case staus check never changed since my initial naturalization application years ago.

No, N-600 is not needed to obtain a passport for your daughter. If my memory serves me well all you will need to apply for your daughter's passport is:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Passport Pictures
3. Passport form filled up http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/forms/forms_847.html
4. Daughter's Green Card
5. Your certificate of naturalization

The child has to be present at the time of passport application, i.e. has to go with you to the post office when you apply.

By the way, that's assuming she meets all the requirements of the child citizenship act, i.e. less than 18 years of age, in your legal and physical custody and having a green card. I hope I haven't missed any requirements.

The N-600 is good to obtain a certificate of citizenship for your daughter and create a record of her citizenship with USCIS should any doubt arise in the future about her citizenship.

It is confusing, and I think I even filled it out incorrectly. Yes, it would seem like you just need to check B, and I agree that section A seems to be about people applying for themselves.

'll tell you what to do first:

1) get passport and passcard for yourself,
2) after getting passport, passcard and cert get passport & passcard for a child
3) after getting passport for a child send n600 with copy of passport (it helps a lot)

N600 is a waste of time and money, but this stupis system requires it all the time.

Since your daughter is a minor and you are the one filling out the application on her behalf, then Part 2 you would have to select option B as you ahve stated above. I know this is confusing because everything else in Part I is filled out from our child's point-of-view, however, I think they want to clarify that the child is a minor and it was the US citizen parent in fact that applied on his or her behalf.

The passport question was answered already. I hope this helps.
