Applying for N-600 or U.S. Passport.. Will they accept my green card as proof of permanent residency even though it is expired?

yes, for the purposes of showing that you met the conditions for automatically becoming a US citizen before you turned 18

Awesome! Thank you for answering.

My father is a naturalized citizen. He naturalized before I was 18, in the early 2000’s. Then I came to the US with a permanent residency card when I was 15. And was in his physical custody until I was 18. I was thinking of applying for the n-600, but after further research it seems like the better route (for now, because it’s cheaper) is getting my passport for proof of citizenship.

I know with the N-600 you can apply for it regardless of your age, as long as you meet the qualifications. Does the same apply for the passport?

I am past 18 years of age, my father is a naturalized citizen and naturalized before I was 18. And I came to America with my green card at 15.
