I do not have experience to share as I am in San Jose, where processing time for N-600 is about a year. You might still be interested to know that I applied for my kid's passport and received it in about 2 months - no hassle at all. If you have not done it already, you may consider it as I have yet to discover a situation where passport would not work just as well as a certificate of citizenship and the latter would have been absolutely necessary.
