You may be able apply right now based on your marriage to a US citizen. You can verify eligibility requirement using the worksheet in the naturalization guide.

That is not true. Consult with an attorney on this. I think it will depend on the way you obtain your green card intially

Yes you can apply as long you meet the criteria JoeF mentions. The Natz Guide has a nice eligibility decision tree that you can use to confirm for ur peace of mind.
I have applied under the same situation you describe, I got my employment based GC in March '02 and had been married to a USC b4 I got my GC. I applied in July '05 on the 3 yr basis. All the best!!
