N-400 Selective Service/ Signature Question

Hello all!

Two questions regarding the N-400. Confused at the end, in part G, regarding the Selective Service.

1. I've been a green card holder for five years, since age 19. So I am assuming I'd answer "YES" where it asks me "Are you a male..."? I've been Selective Service registered even before the Green Card, since I was in the USA at age 18 on lawful visa. So I provided the registration date/ SS number. Is this the right thing to do, and is this all I have to do regarding SS? Meaning, I DO NOT have to get a letter from SS or anything like that?

2. Simple and stupid question, I apologize. I used PDF to fill out the N-400 on the computer. However, the last part that asks for my signature, I have to sign my name/ date with pen, correct?

Thank you!

You are fine. You can, if you want to, get a 'letter' from the selective service administration proving that you are registered. You can request the letter online (www.ssa.gov) and it is free. I carried it with me, but the interviewing officer did not care about it.

Cheers!

Yes, you fill it all in, and then print it out and then sign it with a pen. Don't sign the "last part" (Part 13, that says "don't sign this until the interview"), only sign the part labeled "your signature" (part 11).
