Please advise on my case, some facts below:

1. I have a Green Card and planning to take up a year contact outside the U.S.

2. At the same time, I have already met the N-400 requirements, applied it, passed teh interview and NOW stuck in "Name Check" process.

Question1: Do I need to maintain a contnious time in U.S still considering I have already met the reqs and am in the process?

Questions2: What are the chances that I get denied re-entry because of having a job outside?

Thank you!!

If you go abroad for a year, you are breaking the requirements.
INA 316:
"(2) has resided continuously within the United States from the date of the application up to the time of admission to citizenship"
If the job is temporary, with a fixed termination date, it should be possible to argue that the stay abroad is temporary. In any case, a reentry permit helps, in particular if the duration is close to 1 year.

even if the wife and kids are u.s citizens?
even if my company is sending me off?

man, this Name Check thing is really getting on my nerves, I have heard of horror stories about immigration backlogs, but all made sense. This one does not.....at all.. it almost seems like a scare tactic to have people abandon thier LPR. Shame on them, if this is the objective....

also, do you have a any link that woudl provide more infor on getting the re-entry permit?

I know people who live outside the country for years on and never have to worry about thier LPR status. I wonder how they manage it?

I don't think it has to do anything with patience. If it were to happen to you, you would knonw the senselessness of this whole thing. Or maybe it is just a un-organized effort by the USCIS, and soon they are going to find out...
