N-400 question

Hi,
I mailed my N-400 Naturalization application to California Service Center
on 25th May by United States Postal Service regular mail. I have not
received the receipt yet. How long does it take to get the receipt from
California Service Center ?

I applied for Naturalization after 4 years 9 months from the day
I became permanent resident.

I checked my bank account and the check is not cashed yet.

Let me know if anyone has any information about this.

you should have mailed with signuature confirmat but anyway.

usually you will receive the first notice of action regarding your PD about 2-3 weeks after they received it. pls see my signature about my time line. i sent to CSC and my local office is Santa Ana

btw, my check was cashed around a week or so after they received my application form.

Here is my timeline so far.

My Timeline so far..

DO --> San Jose, CA
Application Sent --> 05/18/2005
Application Received --> 05/23/2005
Check Cashed --> 06/02/2005

Waiting for official Receipt...

BTW, what is your DO i.e. from where you file N400.
 
Here is my dates

San Jose Center
Mailed App-> 13 May.
RD -> 13 May
Receipt received -> May 26th.
PD-> May 13th

not sure if fedex deliveries to the PO box.

I mailed my n400 using signature confirmation and delivery confirmation with regular USPS mail. (the CSC PO box is only 20 mins from where I live. mailing it via express mail or not does not make a different to me).

you could use USPS Express with signature confirmat if you want to.
I would pay more in order to get the application delivered asap.

I live in San Jose(California). But I mailed my application to P.O Box
at Laguna Niguel in California. Is that the correct location to mail
N-400 application ?

I mailed my application after 4 years 9 monts from the day I got
my Green Card I-485 approval. Did anyone of you applied after
4 years 9 months or wait until 5 years from the day you received
your Green Card I-485 approval ?

I mailed my application on May 25 and have not heard anything.
My check is also not cashed.

Yes

I mailed my application after 4 years 9 monts from the day I got
my Green Card I-485 approval. Did anyone of you applied after
4 years 9 months or wait until 5 years from the day you received

I waited after 4 years 11 moths then I applied because I was on vacation around my 4 years 9 months. No big deal to me. I did not have I-485 because I did CP on my last stage of my green card process.

I mailed my application on May 25 and have not heard anything.
My check is also not cashed.

just wait for a bit longer. I assume they might receive it on or after May 27. May 30 was holiday. So i believe you should be getting your NOA in next week or so.

Binny,

Your check should get encashed at any time (May have been encahsed also) and receive your official receipt soon. Since you are from San Jose (I am also from San Jose), can you update your case details in "San Jose N400 Timeline" thread created by Rahul Rastogi? This way we sill know how the cases are moving.
